With the steady growth of Chinese outbound tourism, tourists’ demand for personaliztion increased and have paied more attention on leisure activities. On this background, Recreation Vehicle (RV) travel is gradually becoming popular among Chinese tourists. However, travel products concerning RV travel are relatively in shortage, and the quality varies greatly, which can not meet the strong demand of consumers. Therefore, studying on factors influence the travel experience of Chinese outbound RV tourists, and designing products that meet the demand of RV tourists is very necessary.This paper reviewed previous research on RV travel as well as travel experience and built a modle explain factors influence the travel experience of Chinese outbound RV tourists, which based on theories concerning travel experience. The model was consisted of 3 parts, factors influence travel experience, demongraphic factors and travel behavioral characteristics. Factors influence travel experience refer to propertis of travel destination and travel activity itself. As the core component of the model, factors influence travel experience quantified by 4 indexs, which include RV travel attraction, RV travel interaction, RV travel safty and gains from RV travel. As the first variable, demongraphic factors include gender, age, education, accupation, family, income and driving experience. As the interference variable, travel behavioral characteristics include travel times, travel duration and travel expense. Data was collected through in-depth interview and questionnaire. And SPSS 19.0 was used to analyze data through empirical analysis. Afther indepth analysis, the model was validated, factors influence the travel experience of Chinese outbound RV tourists were explained and suggestions concerning the design as well as marketing of RV product in China were made.
