Analysis Of Impacts Of Railway Construction Project On Regional Employment

The construction and operation of railway project will bring immeasurable economic benefits, also it will promote the quantity of the regional employment. The final point of the railway construction is the development of the economy and society. Even some countries seem much more concerned with social effects as economic benefits of railway construction.As we know, employment is vital to people’s livelihood. As the national infrastructure proj ect, railway construction promoting employment while supporting economy, has obvious and extensive positive externalities. In comparison with direct creation of added value and promotion of industries involved, the contribution to employment opportunities is only in a different perspective. The promotion on employment by constructing railways is an important social benefit.This thesis analysis the influence mechanism in construction period and operation period of railway project. This thesis focuses on researching an effective method to measure the increase of regional employment with influenced by railway projects, use input-output table method to measure the contribution to employment opportunities in construction period and set an system dynamics model to analysis the influence in operation period by some influencing factor as transportation improvement, economic growth, ect.Finally, the thesis estimating the effects on local employment separately by an empirical analysis, and verifying the feasibility of this method.
