The Farmer Cooperative Organization’s Role In The Development Of The Women Of Rural Area

In recent years, with the urbanization and adjustment of industrial structure of agriculture, a large number of male labors have been joining the ranks of the business, and most of the rural women staying at home because of their own and family reasons, the tendency of agricultural feminization is more and more obvious. As the main force of agricultural production and the main power of rural development, they play a main role in the construction and development of rural area. However, restricted by various factors, the development of the rural women has been in trouble, which affected their enthusiasm seriously. Therefore, how to arouse the enthusiasm and initiative of the development of the rural women effectively, and how to play their role are of great significance for the development of rural women themselves and the rural area. In this paper, using no-structured interview and observation methods, through the study of the Puhan Cooperative of Shanxi Yongji, and researching the development of local rural women, reckons that make the rural women organize to establish a type of farmer cooperative organization to improve themselves and the development of the rural areas.In recent years, many scholars are focusing on the developments of rural women and rural areas under the background of feminization of agricultural, and puting forward many suggestions and countermeasures, mainly around the government, women’s federations and other external forces pushing to change the disadvantages of rural women. In this research, the author use a new perspective of the farmer cooperative organization and rural women, and agree that the rural women can play their own advantages to develop self through the platform of a type of farmer cooperative organization, and put the Puhan Cooperative as a significant arguments, trying to search a new path for the development of rural women. When exploring the Puhan Cooperative whether has the significance to the development of rural women, this research use the theory of social gender to analysis the farmer cooperative organization’s role in the development of rural women, which shows the developments and the insufficiency of the rural women clearly, and promote the organization to be more perfect.The gender theory discusses that social and cultural factors are the roots of gender inequality and the differences of gender can be changed. It emphasizes that through the female subjectivity to realize the development of women. By analyzing the rural women’s cases of the Puhan Cooperative, Puhan Cooperative’s role in the development of the rural women mainly include: the increase of economic income, improving the comprehensive quality, strengthening the consciousness of subjectivity, decreasing the pressure by the social roles, the challenge of the roles of the traditional division, the enlargement of the social support network and the change of social cultural environment, etc. But Puhan Cooperative in promoting rural women development are still some shortage, how to ensure the balance of the development of the rural women, avoiding the "Matthew effect"; How to reconcile the role conflict of the rural women when the rural women out of the family and how to strengthen the organization propaganda, encouraging more and more rural women’s participation are still a challenge for Puhan Cooperative.Therefore, the author agrees that the Puhan Cooperative has been exploring a model to fit the development of rural women through exploration and development of recent years. It is used as a platform of "empowerment", which encouraging the rural women to join in, challenging the traditional gender labor pattern, changing their gender notions and social cultural environment through the play of the subjectivity,and maximize the advantages of rural women and promote the development of themselves. Building the farmer cooperative organization according to the needs of rural women, adjusting measures to local conditions, and innovating the model of organization timely, which is of great significance to the development of rural women and the rural areas, and opening up a new soil to the localization of the social work in the rural areas.
