Study On The Evaluation Of Agricultural Listed Companies’ Competitiveness Based On The Industrial Perspective

Agriculture as the basic industries to meet the needs of people living is in an irreplaceable role in the development of the national economy. As advanced representatives of agricultural enterprises at this stage, the development of agricultural listed companies can drive the continuous development of the agricultural small and medium enterprises, and the competitiveness of the strength will affect of the agricultural economy. However, the management system is not perfect, imperfect governance structure, technological standard lags behind and a series of problems affecting the overall competitiveness of the agricultural listed companies, make it not good to play a leading role. Therefore in-depth study of the competitiveness of agricultural listed companies and analysis of its problems and advice targeted, has a very important significance.Agricultural listed companies are divided into three categories including agricultural and sideline products industry, agricultural products processing industry and agricultural sub-sectors, selected on the basis of 56 agricultural listed companies as the study sample, the 2009-2011 annual report of the company as the main source of data, by 12 indicators established the evaluation system of the competitiveness of the agricultural listed companies, and established a factor analysis model. First, through the establishment of the factor analysis model, overall evaluation and industry evaluation on the competitiveness of China’s agriculture listed companies, the overall evaluation showed that the listed companies of China’s agricultural development is not balanced in profitability, solvency, operational capabilities, and the ability to grow, and it leads to the imbalance of the development between survival competitiveness and development competitiveness. The industry evaluation showed that Agricultural listed companies engaged in different sub-sectors of its comprehensive competitiveness uneven, and the competitiveness of the agricultural listed companies within the same industry there are significant differences. Secondly, based on the evaluation of the competitiveness of the agricultural listed companies, the competitiveness of China’s agricultural listed companies is in-depth analysis from the industry perspective; we found that agricultural listed companies have the problems of a single debt financing channel, irrational capital structure, and diversification risk. Finally, against the problems of the study, the paper proposes targeted policy recommendations to help improve the competitiveness of agricultural listed companies.
