With the rapid development of science and technology and productivity levels, the renewal speed of large-scale production equipment has accelerated greatly, and its purchase cost also has risen sharply. At the same time, updating and maintenance cost of the existing production equipment accounts for a large part of the enterprise production cost, and the process has certain negative impacts on the production efficiency and service ability definitely. As a result, many large-scale manufacturing enterprises begin to lease production equipment instead of purchasing in order to reduce the purchase cost and expensive maintenance cost etc. In addition, the environment protection and the effective utilization of resources have become an urgent problem. Recycling and remanufacturing old products are an effective way to reuse the scrap equipment. On one hand, it can improve leaser’s profit greatly. And on the other hand, it can solve the scrapped equipment and its impacts on the environment. Therefore, leasing and remanufacturing of large production equipment is the most important way to realize recycling economy and modern production.Based on the existing literatures at home and abroad, this paper combines preventive maintenance and remanufacturing of equipment. On the lease beginning stage, the leaser can make a full repairing and remanufacturing strategy. The main research results include two parts. Firstly, by studying the changing rule of the lease equipment failure rate, it establishes an optimal preventive maintenance strategy model of leasing equipment. The leaser can effectively reduce the equipment maintenance cost by implementing preventive maintenance strategy. Secondly, by considering residual value of the leasing equipment in the late stage of its life cycle, recycling and remanufacturing old equipment, leasing manufacturing equipment again, it establishes a joint optimization strategy model of preventive maintenance and the remanufacturing of the leasing equipment. This strategy prolongs the equipment life cycle and maximizes the benefit of the production equipment.
