In 2008, the outbreak of serious economic crisis in the world has a great impact on the global economy, and the economic output of all sectors has been reduced in different degrees. Although in the economic downturn, the tourism industry output value has been in a steady growth momentum, becoming the highlight of the global economy. But with the continuous development of social economy and constantly improving people’s living standard, requirements of tourists to the tourism activities is no longer limited on simple sightseeing excursions, but pay attention to comfort and functionality of tourism. Medical tourism can satisfy the requirement of tourists as many as possible. Medical tourism can not only meet the needs of tourists for sightseeing, but also can treat in the travel, achieve recovery from the disease and meet the functional needs of tourists. Based on these two characteristics, medical tourism develops rapidly and becomes a dark horse in the world tourism industry which should not be underestimated. Nowadays many countries in the world have carried out medical tourism projects which have droved the long term economic growth and formed a certain scale. In many medical tourism destination, the third world especially Asian countries, such as Thailand, India, Malaysia and other countries becomes the first choice for those patients who comes from the first world countries such as Europe and the United States because of more advanced medical technology and low price of labor.The global economic crisis has made many countries reduce the foreign trade. Based on this, to achieve sustainable development, our country has made the industry’s development strategy, promoting industrial structure adjustment and boosting tertiary industry. Tourism, as a non-polluting green industry, has made a rapidly growth and has become an important growth point of national economy. But as the tourism market becomes more and more saturated, a slowdown is inevitable. To achieve this industry’s sustainable development, a transformation of development of tourism market is needed, not just rely on the traditional development mode. Under this definition, medical tourism has become a new growth point of tourism industry. Preliminary exploration has been conducted in some provinces of China, but if we want to form a complete industrial system, there is a long way to go-Qingdao is famous as the Oriental Leisure Capital & Quality-Life City. Besides the beautiful natural scenery, Qingdao also has high level medical technology, advanced medical equipment, comprehensive medicare system and high-quality medical services, which have provided a unmatched condition for the development of medical tourism. And the development of tourism is necessary for the upgrading and transformation of the tourism in Qingdao.This paper studies the development of the medical tourism based on Qingdao. Firstly related studies from home and abroad were introduced, then this paper put emphasis on the analysis of the development of cognitive linguistics and the regularities of distribution of medical tourism, which provides theoretical support for studies of this paper. Secondly this paper analyzed the development of medical tourism abroad especially the development in tourism destination countries, and then made a brief description of medical tourism development in China. Thirdly the advantage and disadvantage of medical tourism in Qingdao were analyzed. Fourth analyzed the factors which infecting behaviors of the tourists. At last, based on all the analysis, suggestions for the development of medical tourism in Qingdao were given.This paper was meant to investigate the development situation and deficiencies of medical tourism in Qingdao through investigation and analysis and provide advice and suggestions for the development of medical tourism in Qingdao. Second, through this paper’s study, hopefully, the theoretical supplements will be provided for the studies on regional medical tourism in China, and make a little contribution to the theoretical research of medical tourism in our country.
