A Study On The Economic Transition Of Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township In Gaoyou, Jiangsu Province

Along with the development of economic globalization, the study on rural community economy of minority nationality in developed areas attracts increasing attention. Referring to previous studies, the author puts emphasis on Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township and its muslim village in Gaoyou to carry out research with local cultural and historical data collected. Through combing its change process of modern economy and understanding the evolution course of the modern economy in Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township, this paper explores how this community get adapt to modernization development as well as the problem generated in the advance of preserving and digging their national little traditional culture.This paper is divided into six chapters, in which introduction part focuses on the subject reason, research significance as well as a summary and review of previous studies so as to propose innovative points and deficiencies; In the first chapter, the author tries to give an overview of the overall situation about the location of field study, announce an introduction into the typical cultural signs held by ancient mosque, and make a definition to related concepts; as for the second chapter, it lays high attention to the development of traditional industries in Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township; while the third chapter primarily elaborate on the progress of modern emerging industries in Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township; In terms of the fourth chapter, the author mainly set forth and analyze the transition of economic structure in Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township under the background of town-oriented development as well as its causes. With the application of participant observation, interviews and other anthropological research methods, an analysis of those influences on countryside brought by economic transition is conducted. In the sixth chapter, combined with an indispensable discuss on the issues raised at first, it proposes preliminary ideas for subsequent study.The problems that whether the little tradition of ethnic village could get adapt to economic development, the mutual effect between these elements as well as how they progress harmoniously and sustainably have become a key point of rural community research. This study suggests that the achievements of economic development in Lingtang Hui Ethnic Township benefit from its open and inclusive interaction with outside world after getting rid of the traditional and closed community gradually, leading to their advance and improvement in constant interaction. Thus, it forms two unique characters:first, the national identity and its adaptation to the environment conductive to the blooming of industrial enterprises which turn into industrial chain; second, this township makes good use of their favorable conditions in field to convert among different capital. Its development process reveals the interaction and adaptation of the economic development in a ethnic rural community with environment in modernization process, which finally present a highly condensed posture and sustained development momentum in front of the world.
