Depending on the process of urbanization, infrastructure construction and real estate market prosperity, the China’s stone industry has made rapid development. Land resources rational allocation and effective utilization have always been the focus of China’s stone mining district. However, the majority of stone enterprises still use "extensive" management mode, especially stone products "extensive" storage that has possessed and wasted a great deal of land resources. To solve this problem, the paper studies determination of supporting storage capacity towards production of stone products from the point of supporting storage capacity and production of stone products.Firstly, the paper defines the main concepts related to the research content and explains the follow-up research ideas. Then the paper studies the problem of stone products demand forecast. The problem is the first step to determine the supporting storage capacity towards production of stone products. Through the analysis of stone products demand, the paper finds stone products demand is a kind of smooth, non-steady and uncertainty demand. The paper uses support vector regression that is good at small sample data learning as the method of stone products demand forecast to solve the regression function. In accordance with the reality of the research, the paper develops the method of support vector regression in order to get the regression equation and converts the uncertainty stone products demand into deterministic demand. After that, the paper builds a stone products production lot size model based on the characteristics of stone products. The model is a single stage, two varieties model. It also uses an improved WW algorithm to solve the model.At last, the paper analyzes the capacity content of the supporting storage capacity towards production of stone products based on the stone products demand forecast as well as stone products production lot size. They are storage scale determination and storage facility operation strategy selection. The paper divides the storage scale determination into two steps: storage demand determined and warehousing facilities scale calculation. Meanwhile, in the aspect of storage facility operation strategy selection, the paper introduces three basic storage strategies as well as proposes two kinds of hybrid storage strategies. Under a given service level, the paper discusses the strategy selection problem according to cost.The paper not only enriches the research on supporting storage capacity, but also can be regarded as a beneficial exploration for the research of logistics service capability by using quantitative analysis method.Moreover, the paper has certain reference significance of solving the problem of "extensive" storage, enhancing the stone material product storage efficiency and promoting the sustainable development of stone industry.
