Great use of fertilizer has been a significant feature of agriculture in China. Which means, the agriculture has a strong negative externality——Non-point source pollution of fertilizer when it meets the basic needs of the society. Farmers has an inescapable responsibility as the main consumer group of fertilizer, but it’s very difficult to make the reduction of fertilizer by themselves for the feature of small-scale peasant, however, there is a new way to solve this problem with the emergence and rapid development of new types of agricultural businesses. The concepts and methods of large growers always have a strong demonstration driving effect to ordinary farmers. It will be meaningful to research the behavior of large growers’fertilizer application and teach them scientific fertilization, not only can effectively improve the fertilization behavior of this new type of agricultural businesses and promote the sustainable development of the modern agriculture, but also strengthen the driving effect to ordinary farmers to realize the efficiency and environment protection in agricultural production. Henan Province as a large agricultural province in China, Therefore, it has a great significance to research Henan’s fertilizer application for the safety of agricultural products and the prevention of non-point source pollution.Based on the review of literature research, first, this paper defines the concepts which related to the research, including larger grower and fertilizer application behavior; then, on the base of data collected from the questionnaire survey and field interviews, statistical description and analysis of the internal and external characteristics(basic characteristics of the head of household, family business characteristics, grower awareness level of the fertilizer non-point source pollution and their socio-economic environment in which the characteristics) and the application status of chemical fertilizer application in Henan Province. It was concluded that there were different levels of excessive fertilization in the all large growers under surveyed. But compared with the same period of Henan Province as a whole fertilizer use intensity has decreased significantly. The low rate of the measuring technology of formula fertilization by soil in the production and operation of the main body entity; what’s more, with the grower of internal and’external factors as the main basis, constructs the framework of factors affecting planting fertilizer application behavior, and study the effects of different variables on the intensity in the direction and extent by the method of factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results shows that there are significant negative effects on grower fertilizer use intensity of availability of fertilization techniques, farmers’cognition of fertilizer and docking degree of the farmers, and market, the characteristics of cultivated land resources is not significantly affected, household characteristics and family management characteristics have a significant effect on it, but the specific direction of the influence is different. In order to enhance the depth of the study, the author uses binary Logistic regression method to further analysis the influence factors of grower willingness to adopt fertilization technology on the base of obtained of the availability of fertilizer technology on grower the maximum effect of fertilizer application. The results shows that whether heard of soil testing and formula fertilization technology, whether received measuring soil formula fertilization technology training, attitude towards risk, the education level of the head of household, the cognitive level of the grower fertilizer non-point source pollution and family income level have a significant positive impact.Finally, according to the result of statistical description analysis and quantitative analysis, the study puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote the reduction of chemical fertilizer application, which including improve larger growers’education, consciousness and realization of scientific and environmental protection fertilization, adoption rates of soil testing, formula fertilization technology and ability to resist risks and suitable degree of cultivated land scale management.
