As logistics become increasingly important in the strategy of international corporations, logistics service providers are under pressure to enhance the performance of the transport chain. While the maritime segment has been recognized as a component with a relatively high effectiveness and efficiency, the hinterland transport is exposed to the logistics service providers. The increasing freight volumes and resulted congestion and environmental problems caused a huge lost both for shippers and the whole society, which have a negative effect on the competitiveness of supply chains. In such a situation, the synchromodality is proposed to optimise the whole transport network and enhance the competitiveness of supply chain, in order to meet the demands of enlargement and sustainable development in the transport segment. Essentially, synchromodality is an organization innovation which orchestrate various stakeholders and organisations in real-time. As a relatively new concept, synchromodality still need to be explored and developed further.As a new concept, synchromodality is developed from the existed transport modal, while the existed models and methods are not suitable for synchromodality. On the one hand, synchromodality has its own prosperity, it synchrony the whole transport network and it is logistics service provider who decide the transport modal. On the other hand, synchronmodality integrate the supply chains which have many stakeholders from all sides. It could be one of the bottleneck that the synchromodality will have with regards to balancing the various stakeholder’s interest. In a word, the current demands for the development of synchromodality are systematic application model and transport route chosen model that balance the stakeholders.The paper combined stakeholder analysis and researched on the synchromodality’s applicaton based on the model structure. Established an application model for constructing synchromodality to achieve the synchromodality and provide guidance for implementation.More specifically, the paper reviewed the development of transport modal and analyzed the concept, characteristics and requirement. Meanwhile, synchromodality is analyzed based on coordination theory, competition theory and stakeholder theory. The implementation model of synchromodality in hinterland and its requirements are presented.Then, stakeholders’ identification and classification method of synchromodality are analyzed in the hinterland. Social network analysis are used to explore the relationships of stakeholders, the management strategies are proposed to manage the stakeholders.Further, the paper analyzed the reasonable characteristics of transport route of synchromodality, establish a route chosen model for synchromodality, combined stakeholder analysis, optimizing the model by taking cost and carbon emission into the model.At last, the application model of synchromodality was used in the case of EGS and achieved good result.
