Research On Supplier Quality Management Improvement Of Make-to-SPEC Parts In N Company

The paper is focused on the Supplier Quality Management Improvement on Make-to-SPEC materials in N company by the collection of incoming material issue in 2014 complained by production or customer, using Pareto or every chart to classify and list the main quality problems of each type of Make-to-SPEC material. And then analyze the root cause of each main quality problems by the application of quality tools of Fish-bone and 5Why principle logically. Based on the different root causes, propose the corresponding corrective actions, for example, One SIP for One Mechanical Part, LAB control for plastic part color, etc. Also, as the same weakness of supplier quality management for Make-to-SPEC material, to optimize the management procedure of supplier quality management by introduction of Customer Product Information Collection & Analysis at the initial phase, Phase Division & Definition for New Parts Introduction, Classification Management for PCB, Extending Management of Quality in Supply Chain. Finally, to verify the effectiveness on four aspects: ‘Incoming Inspection Effectiveness Improvement from Make-to-SPEC Material’, ‘Complain Trend of Make-to-SPEC from Production’, ‘Defect Rate Trend of PCB 28-000007-001’ and ‘Defect Rate Trend of TFT LCM Capacitance Panel’, all have been improvement tremendously as 13.5% & 9.0% for IQC incoming Make-to-SPEC material inspection effectiveness, 3 or 0 cases complaining for Make-to-SPEC material compared to 7 or 6 previous, no quality reliability occurrence for PCB 28-000007-002 and with dramatic improvement of cosmetic issue from 5% to 0.59% or 0%, and got 60% decrease on functional defects of TFT LCM Capacitance Panel. So, there is the reference value for the thinking ways of problems and solutions adoption in the paper for EMS or similar enterprise.
