In the background of the comprehensive China’s financial system reforms, the gradually relaxed restrictions on financial institutions and the increasing openness of financial, China’s commercial banks not only have to face increasingly fierce competition in the domestic industry, but also to cope with the strong competition from foreign banks. How to better to seize the opportunities and seek the development under the new rules and challenges,commercial banks not only need to improve its quality of products and services, but also to establish a scientific and effective performance evaluation system in the objective requirements, in order to increase the sensitivity of the market, build a healthy organism and create a good performance.At present, in China’s commercial banks performance evaluation system exist a lot of issues such as a lack of strategic objectives, the absence of core indicators, ignoring the cost of capital, the neglect of non-financial indicators, thus how to build an effective performance evaluation system of commercial banks has become a significant topic of China’s financial.Based on the above background, this paper takes J bank for the study, analyses performance evaluation management, applies the BSC to perfect the bank’s performance evaluation indicator system, providing introduction and reference for J Bank’s improvements of performance evaluation.First, this paper summarizes the common performance evaluation methods used at home and abroad, explaining the superiority of the Balanced Scorecard through the comparative analysis. Then it introduces J Bank’s current performance evaluation management situation and analyses the existing problems of the evaluation system, and on this basis, dissects the necessity and feasibility of using the BSC to improve J bank’s performance evaluation system.Finally, by summarizing the conclusions of this study, this paper summarizes the issues of using the BSC in the performance evaluation, and proposes corresponding recommendations for improvement.
