Bank of Communications established in 1908 is one of earliest banks characterized as state-owned in Chinese modern history whose developmental process run through overall period of the Republic of China. In different historical periods, the management of Bank of Communications has experienced several excellent opportunities as well as numerous significant crisis and reforms. Bank outlets construction is important component of development of Bank of Communications. The bank outlets are business institutions as well as places to develop specific business. The distribution of bank outlets represents management scope and region as well as strength of bank. It can be said that bank outlets are banks’tentacles and existence form.Study on outlet construction of Bank of Communications can gain insights about its management situation and strategy, understand features and means of internal management inside Bank of Communications, and clear out developmental trace from establishment to gradual expansion. At the meantime, quantity of outlets and main business developed by bank can reflect local economic level and industrial structure.The thesis divides development of Bank of Communications into initial stage of establishment, Beijing Government Period, initial period of National Government establishment, Anti-Japanese war period, history after victory of anti-Japanese war and makes detailed introduction about outlet construction of Bank of Communications in each period. In the aspect of restraint factors, the thesis starts from political, economic profits, local development, regional economy, industrial cooperation, business expansion and communication region and so on with expectation to gain comprehensive and objective conclusion.
