| Since the 21 st century, logistics industry in China has achieved considerable progress in the support of national policy. The third-party logistics companies, recognized as the "third-party source of profits" are growing the fastest. Third-party logistics companies reduce the operating costs and effectively integrate social fragmented resources at the same time, thus promoting economic development. Due to the lower threshold, the third- party logistics companies have sprung up. However, what accompanied by were more and more fierce competitions and various companies with different qualitis. Therefore, normalization is urgently required. As WT logistics was set up and developed under such circumstances, it is of great importance to maintain the healthy development of the company. Thus, it is required to constantly optimize internal transportation management level and imp rove the transport efficiency.Through the analysis of current status of transportation management, problems exsisting in the transportation management of WT logistics company were pointed out. According to the theory, proposed optimization strategies were provided to improve the level of transportation management for WT logistics company. The main contents are as follows:First of all, theories involve in the article were expounded including basic methods of third-party logistics and Supplier selection,basic principle of Analytic Hierarchy Proeess selection and SWOT analysis. The definition and features of transport were also discussed.Secondly, the current business situation of WT transportation logistics company was summarized. Through analysis of the current situation, problems were identified from the organizational structure and transport management, control capability and transport efficiency. Wherein transport management capacity needs to be strengthened in aspects of the utilization of funds, management of drivers, vendors and security management. Also, there is room for the improvement of transportation efficiency in the transportation process, cargo damage and full load factor transport.Afterwards, optimization strategies were proposed to deal with the existing problems. The strategies are: adjustin the existing organizational structure; improve enterprise management and control capabilities in raising the utilization of funds and the scientific management of drivers, optimizing selecion method of suppliers and security, and establishing of incident handling mechanism; enhancing transportation efficiency through optimization of transport process, properly handling of cargo damage and reasonable allocations of foam goods heavy cargo.Finally, safeguards for optimizing the existing problems of WT logistics company were analyzed including building brand awareness, introduction of management personnel and completion of the e-commerce platform etc..The thesis was based on widely reading literatures and understanding the theoretical basis. Theory was combined with practice, eg., the matrix organization model was introduced for the analysis of the organizational structure and AHP analysis method was adopted to analyze the selection of suppliers. Solutions of the present problems for the transportation management of WT were provided for WT in combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. |
