| Since the late 20 th century, some famous international manufacturing companies have improved their competitiveness through business transformation and service innovation. The value creation is changing from product-oriented to service-oriented with the integration of manufacturing and service. Servitization is the trend of the development of the manufacturing enterprise in the future, thus it is a way for long-term development of Chinese manufacturing enterprise to develop service-oriented manufacturing and seek new profit growth point. Essentially, the servitization of manufacturing enterprise is a problem that they rebuild their core competitiveness. According to the knowledge-based theory, enterprise is essentially a learning system to gain, absorb, use, share, maintain, transfer and create knowledge, the long-term competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises are rooted in the knowledge of the enterprise, so a better perspective to research the servitization transformation is that we analysis the influence factors, implementation process and the transformation path of the servitization of manufacturing enterprises from the source, based on the point of enterprise knowledge theory, so as to explore the internal mechanism of servitization transformation of manufacturing enterprises.The manufacturing companies of our country is the research object, first of all, the dissertation review the literature related to servitization and enterprise knowledge, and then explain the related concepts and the main motivations why manufacturing enterprises turn to servitization, combined with the existing research both at home and abroad. Then based on the foreign scholars’ research on the maturity model of servitization, the dissertation proposes to build maturity model of servitization under the perspective of knowledge, as the theory framework to guide the following case study. In the process of multi-case study, the dissertation selects three typical enterprises that undergo servitization, firstly, we study on every single case and explore the characteristics of servitization process stages respectively, from the four knowledge dimensions namely customer, technology, marketing and management, and then we do cross-case analysis of three cases with the grounded theory analysis method, so as to obtain a general understanding and comprehensive evaluation about the servitization transformation of the manufacturing enterprises in China.Based on the multi-case study and the grounded theory analysis, we obtain the model of servitization transformation mechanism of manufacturing enterprises, build a maturity model of servitization under the perspective of knowledge, and induce the key process areas of the maturity levels of servitization. The study suggests that knowledge is the foundation of the servitization. With the adjustment function of customer participation and the executive driver, technical knowledge, organization and management, and market network promote the upgrading of enterprise knowledge, and that the enterprise’s four kinds of knowledge gradually upgrade will drive the manufacturing enterprises to improve the maturity of servitization. Accordingly, the dissertation provide some advice to the manufacturing enterprise that plan or undergo servitization, in order to provide some beneficial enlightenment to the manufacturing companies in our country. |
