According to the geological characteristics of block VI in Xinli oilfield, whose tectonic setting is complex, with many minor faults existing, the study is carried out with a detailed multidisciplinary comprehensive reservoir description method that is based on the sequence stratigraphy and seismic data, along with the drilling data with logging data.In this paper, the layers of interest are the top layer of Quan III, the top layer of Quan ? and the base layer of Quan III, of which the detailed structural interpretation and further study of minor faults and micro structure are conducted. In this paper, the seismic data, drilling data, logging data are all taken full advantage to establish structural model and facies model that constrains the new property model and the NTG model, with the method of Sequential Gaussian Simulation in the software of Petrel. Subsequently, the hydrocarbon reserves of each layer is estimated by means of volumetric calculation. From the perspectives of sedimentology and tectonics, the remaining oil in this region is classified into the following types, namely imperfect injection-production system type, out-of-control well-network type, differential sedimentary facies type and the abandoned channel type, while favorable areas being well predicted. Finally,16 favorable areas are considered worthy of being further developed in the third to fifth sand groups of block VI in Xinli oilfield.
