Ore distributing process, the former process of ore processing, is a key link to influence the ore-dressing production process. Its main task is to preprocess the ore and deliver it to the corresponding ore bin timely and accurately. Security, timeliness, stability and accuracy are important factors to measure the control effect of ore distributing process.In this thesis, considering the characteristics of ore distributing process that more equipments, long production line, difficulty manual operation, heavy working intensity, low equipments operation rate and abominable operating condition, combining with the control target and control requirements of ore distributing process, supported by the National Science and Technology Supporting Program (Advanced Control Technology of Whole production Line of Mineral Processing 2012BAF19G01) and the Key Automation Project (Synthetic Automation System of Newly Built 4 million t/a mineral processing plant), the control strategy of ore distributing process is proposed. It follows that the automatic control system for ore distributing process is designed and developed which consists of process control system and process monitoring system, including system operation management function, system monitoring function and system management function. This system has been successfully applied to the ore distributing process of the Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company, which verifies the industrial application value of this system. The main works of this thesis can be described as follows:1. Considering the characteristics of ore distributing process, and combined with the control target and control requirements of ore distributing process, the object dynamic model of ore distributing process is established, the automatic ore distributing order logic control strategy is proposed. Based on the object dynamic model, the simulation of automatic ore distributing process is completed. And the simulation results verified the rationality and effectiveness of automatic ore distributing control strategy.2. Automatic control system for ore distributing process is designed, which consists of process control system and process monitoring system, including system operation management function, system monitoring function and system management function. The specific physical implementation framework of this system consists of industrial Ethernet and ControlNet two layers network structure. The hardware and software of this automatic control system are designed in detail. Hardware design includes the design of hardware network structure, the selection of instruments and the design of PLC control stations; software design includes system operation control software, system monitoring software and system operation management software.3. Based on Rockwell's ControlLogix5000 series PLC software development platform, the software of automatic control system for ore distributing process is developed detailedly, including process control software, process monitoring software and system communication software.4. The automatic control system for ore distributing process designed and developed in this thesis has been applied to the ore distributing process of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company. After field debugging and test run, this system achieved safe, timely, stable and accurate operation, greatly reduced the labor intensity of workers, improved the working environment of workers, and raised equipments operation rate. Such system can also be applied to other process industries such as minerals processing of Copper, aluminum, gold mines etc, having certain guiding significance and popularization value.
