With the continuous development of our society, China's oil supply hardly meet the demand and a lot of oil need to be imported. Therefore, improving oil recovery becomes a top priority, and fracturing equipment is the key to improve oil recovery. At present,China's fracturing equipment still has a certain gap with the developed countries like the United States in the terms of power and life. In order to narrow the gap, our country invested a lot of manpower and material resources to conduct the study.Pump head is one of the core components of fracturing equipment, which bears the erosion and the high-pressure circulating working loads. In the working condition, the pump head is vulnerable to early failure. Due to the high manufacturing and design costs,experiments of the pump heads made of different materials tests require huge test costs.The paper aims to study the establishment of a simulation platform to maximize to simulate the actual working conditions of pump head and to observe the failure process of the pump head materials in the high-pressure condition and compare the properties of the materials in order to achieve the purpose of selecting new materials.The project starts with the basic principle of piston pump, and then establishes five parameters in analyzing the stress situation under the real work environment, and guides the selection of the pressure device and the design of the test specimens. The test specimens are the carriers that withstand the high and cycling pressure and the cumulative stroke rate in the testing is considered as the basis for judging the quality of the new material.This paper introduces the working principle of the simulation platform, the overall planning,main system and monitoring system. Among them, the main system concludes pressure generator, mechanical devices, the high-pressure adjusting mechanism and control software. The monitoring system concludes sensors' monitoring, the device ofimage monitoring and comparison, the device of acoustic emission and control software.Through the platform, the work statue of the motor is monitored,changes of pressure,strain, displacement, ambient temperature in the testing process are monitored in time, and the use of acoustic emission is to determine the cracks initiating and propagating, and the eventual failure is determined by the use of image monitoring and comparison. The simulation platform utilizes tests to achieve the purpose of selecting the new materials. It is a great significance to the selection of the new materials of pump head.
