Diverse structures and novel application properties of coordination compounds have attracted much favour towards complexes. This thesis studies on synthetic routes of platinum sulfobenzoate complexes, which were produced by platinum salts, sulfobenzoate and N-donor neutral ligands as raw materials. As the result,11 platinum sulfobenzoate complexes have been synthesized. The complexes have been characterized by X-ray single crystal structure analysis, IR, elemental analysis, fluorescence, thermo gravimetric analysis, XRD, UV-vis. Besides, complexes have been explored as catalysts in MPS (methyl phenyl sulfide) oxygenation reaction. This thesis divided into the following three parts to discuss on account of different structures and properties of those complexes,.1. Six platinum sulfobenzoate complexes with 2,2'-bipy or mbipy have been obtained: [Pt(2,2'-bipy)2]·2(4-Hsb)·4H2O (1), 2[(HNC(CH3)NH(CH3)CNH)Pt(2,2'-bipy)]·2(4-Hsb)·(4-sb)·5H2O(2), [(HNC(CH3)NH(CH3)CNH)Pt(2,2'-bipy)]·(2-sb)·4H2O (3), [Pt(mbipy)2]·2(3-Hsb)·5H2O (4), [Pt(mbipy)2]·2(4-Hsb)·9H2O (5), [Pt(mbipy)2]·2(4-Hsb)·7H2O (6). All these 6 complexes are cation-anion species with sb2-or Hsb- ligands in the structures. In the process of synthesis of complexes 2 and 3, solvent reaction happened, which created new ligand to coordinated with platinum. Complexes were investigated in catalytic oxygenation reaction. There is no catalytic effect with the CH3CN as the solvent in MPS oxygenation reaction, and little catalytic effect in CH3OH.The catalytic efficiency has been improved obviously with the addition of little 2-H2sb.2. There happened solvent reaction in the process of synthesis, whether neutral ligands were added or not. Three platinum complexes with sb and neutral ligands have been synthesized:[Pt(HNC(CH3)NH(CH3)CNH)2] · (2-sb) · (2H2O) (7), [Pt(HNC(CH3)NH(CH3)CNH)2] · (3-sb) · (3H2O) (8), [Pt(HNC(CH3)NH(CH3)CNH)2] · (4-sb) · (2H2O) (9). Trimers, which act as new neutral ligands, are formed through the hydrolytic polymerization of CH3CN. All these 3 complexes are cation-anion species with sb2- ligands in the structures. Complex 8 was investigated in catalytic oxygenation reaction, but there is almost no catalytic effect.3. Two platinum sulfobenzoate complexes with phen have been synthesized: [Pt(phen)2]·2(3-Hsb)·3H2O (10), [Pt(phen)2]·2(4-Hsb)·4H2O (11). These 2 complexes are cation-anion species with partly deprotonated Hsb- ligands in the structures.
