According to the problem that burst damage leads to support failure, mine support equipment and support materials do not have the function of rapid energy-absorption and abdicating, based on the anti-impact support concept,and an energy-absorption component is designed which is called the polyhendron pre-folded edge tube with special shape. In order to make up for the poor ability that support resists rockburst and the defect that dones't have energy-absorption ability, utilizing of rapid reaction, high energy-absorption and stabile deformation when rockburst occur suddenly, and then the serious damage of support system and roadway is avoided by rockburst. The component belong to a thin-walled metal tube that consist of the pre-folded flat metal sheet and can buckle and deform according to the pre-folded edge, aiming at achieving the function of enengy-absorption and abdicating and having a stable deformation. The follow aspects are studied:(1) From the point of mechanics, the energy-absorption preperties of the tube are analyzed, including the reasonable peak load, the persistently high reaction force, the long deformation stroke, stable and repeatable deformation mode and irreversible energy conversion, and light weight and high energy absorption, low cost and easy installation.(2) By the use of the ABAQUS finite element numerical simulation software, single section and double sections tubes are calculated and analyzed studing that the reaction force change, energy-absorption effect and buckling morphology and stability, and at the same time are comparison analysis the ordinary square tube and circular tube. In optimally designing the geometric parameters of the tube, including the plate inclination angle, the wall thickness and the port number of edges, can make it satisfy the requirement of mine anti-impact energy-absorption support.(3) The laboratory compression test of the tube has been made, preliminary studying the changes of the carrying capability and the reaction, the buckling morphology and the energy-absorption capability under quasi-static compression, and compared numerical simulation with and finding out the existing gaps and analyzing the reasons. At the same time, the possible intrinsic and extrinsic influence factors of bearing, change, the capability of energy-absorption and buckling mode of polyhendron pre-folded edge tube are put forward.(4) Based on the practical engineering background, summarizing five cases under the non-ideal external load conditions (non uniform load or non axial load), and analyzing its influence on the buckling deformation, the polyhendron folded edge tube reaction force, stability and calculation energy-absorption effect.
