The slope stability is the premise and foundation of the open pit mine continuous mining also ensure the safety of the surrounding normal production operations personnel and equipment. According to the slope actual conditions to assess its stability scientific and made reasonable measures to control the stability of slope are important technical problems which mining engineering field engineers and technicians are committed to.According to West two open pit mine actual conditions, use of methods like theoretical analysis, rock and soil mechanics test, Limit equilibrium analysis, numerical simulation and so on, there were deep research on slope stability and related issues of the east slope in the first mining area. By large triaxial shear test, identified the physical and mechanical indicators of a variety of rock; On the basis of the east slope stability and pattern analysis of potential landslide, Use limit equilibrium analysis to optimized slope shape of the east slope. Use FLAC3D software to simulate the stress distribution, displacement distribution and plastic zone distribution when the slope instability, describes the mechanism of landslide; based on the stability analysis, work out the east slope stability control program that based on surface displacement monitoring, the research has a certain significance for the development of West two open pit mine abandoned projects.
