The hydro-cyclones have been widely used in various industrial fields because of the advantages of simple structure,convenient installation and operation.Since they have been used till now,the problem of attrition seriously restricts the hydro-cyclone's development and application,which receives enormous attention.Although there are a lot of researches on the wear-resisting materials,the hydro-cyclones attrition problems still exist.Aimed at the attrition problem of the solid-liquid hydro-cyclones,using computational fluid dynamics to study of numerical simulation for wall attrition of hydro-cyclone,at the same time a wear-resisting hydro-cyclone with the ring seam liner was proposed and the attrition of the hydro-cyclone was simulated,furthermore the simulation values of the hydro-cyclone with ring seam liner and ordinary hydro-cyclone were compared.First,the hydro-cyclone wear mechanisms as well as the calculation method of solid-liquid two-phase flow and wear model were discussed.Based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD),the attrition of the hydro-cyclone was simulated using the CFX in ANSYS software.The results showed that the main attrition located on the entrance,connection area of the cone and cylinder,and near the underflow port of the hydro-cyclone,wear parts were unevenly distributed on the hydro-cyclone cone and cylinder wall by spiral ribbon,at the entrance and underflow of the hydro-cyclone wall,the wear rate was larger than the other parts to a peak.Then according to the simulation results,based on the hydro-cyclone wall surface wear problem,a wear-resisting hydro-cyclone with the ring seam liner was proposed,namely inside the hydro-cyclone added the ring seam liner,and the attrition of the hydro-cyclone was simulated,which compared with the ordinary hydro-cyclone simulation results.The results showed that the rate of erosion on the surface of the hydro-cyclone wall is reduced greatly due to existence of ring seam.In addition,inside the hydro-cyclone adding spiral seam liner was put forward for the different structure of liner,the erosion of which was simulated.The simulation results of hydro-cyclone with two different liners and ordinary hydro-cyclone were compared with each other,results showed that both hydro-cyclones' wear rate with liner was greatly reduced than ordinary hydro-cyclone,and for two different structures of liner,the erosion of hydro-cyclone with the ring seam liner was still decreased than the hydro-cyclone with spiral seam liner,that is to say the hydro-cyclone with the ring seam liner was better than the spiral seam hydro-cyclone liner,and provided guidance for the wear resistance of the hydro-cyclone in industrial design.
