This paper outlines the basic information of predicting mine inflow prediction and summarizes the main measures of mine water prevention at home and abroad, then it launches a study about dewatering and the technology of waterproof and drain in Gaocun open pit mine.Combine hydrogeological research, statistics on joined rock mass, pumping test and rainfall observation, the text analyses geological and hydrogeological features in Gaocun iron mine, and then the aquifer in the mining area is simplified as a fissure-developing bedrock and aquifer system. Using the water inflows data and groundwater dynamic observation data, the unconfined flow mathematical model is established. Better simulative data is obtained after a lot of repeated relegation and verification, which guarantees credibility of the estimation of future water inflows.According to the mining production scheduling, three drainage models are educed based on the flow model created earlier, they are closure of the curtain impervious, foundation ditch well cluster drainage and infiltration gallery drainage respectively. Considering the construction technological process and dewatering effect, the curtain impervious and foundation ditch well cluster drainage are not considered. Through an analysis of the advantage of infiltration gallery drainage method, the paper brings up some idea about the structure of infiltration gallery system.Making reference to infiltration gallery drainage system, horizontal well is introduced, and by this way, a drainage scheme using horizontal radial well is proposed, which is much better than infiltration gallery drainage system. At last, suggest is proposed to applying horizontal well to the mine drainage in Gaocun open pit after some necessary tests.
