As the preform of composites reinforced, by textile fiber, three-dimensional fabric has the good integrity and the performance of profile modeling. The composite materials made by three-dimensional fabric have superior comprehensive mechanical properties, and have been widely applied in aerospace, defense industry, transportation, general machinery, building energy, etc. The three-dimensional weaving technology has become a research hotspot of modern textile. However, to produce the three-dimensional fabric automatically, the high efficiency, automated three-dimensional loom should be developed.This thesis mainly research about the processing technology and mechanism design of 3-D rapier Loom as following:1) The key technology to weave the irregular section three-dimensional fabric is researched, and the weaving technics of the 3-D rapier loom is designed. Especially, the adaptability of 3-D looms' varieties and standards are mainly considered. On the basis of existing technology, according to the special requirements of weaving 3-D fabric, the mechanisms are designed and improved for shedding, weft-insertion, selvedge apparatus, beating-up, let-off and take-up motion.2) A new type of shedding system in three-dimensional is proposed and servo-cylinder is used to control shedding motion. Servo cylinder has many advantages, such as accurate speed, position, thrust control, and it is easy to connect with PLC control system, which can achieve high accurate shedding motion control. Multi-eye heddles are used with odd-eye heddles in shedding motion and it will appear several wefts.3) Based on the analysis of the motion law of a rapier and the characteristics of rapier loom's weft-insertion mechanism, according to the special requirements to loom's weft-insertion mechanism for weaving three-dimensional fabric, a new rapier weft-insertion system is present, in which the servo-cylinder is adopt to control weft motion. Based on the structure of 3-D fabrics, we could program with computer to control driver and then to drive the servo-cylinder to move. The rapiers are connect with servo-cylinder'pusher, and with move of the pusher, rapiers could do reciprocating motion to achieve weft-insertion.4) In the 3-D loom, a parallel beating-up device is present which beating-up force is powerful and stable; the creel is applied in let-off mechanism and the temple driven by step motor to lead the 3-D fabric apart from fell.
