Cutting is developed to the direction of high speed, high precision and automation. Long and continuous cutting seriously affect the normal cutting process, and how to control the chip formation, which regularly crimpd and breaking is the key to improve the efficiency of turning processing automatic production system. Chip using fragments of cemented carbide indexable blade groove chip breaker is currently the most widely used a method of chip breaker. Appropriate use of chip breaker groove, can make the chip broken reliable and reasonable, ensure the normal operation of machining system, improve the production efficiency. Visible, chip breaker groove plays an important role in the process of turning, the design of chip breaker groove not only to ensure the accuracy of the design, but also to ensure efficiency of the design. Using UG secondary development of indexable inserts chip breaking groove parametric design, reduce the design workload, shorten the design cycle of the blade. The main research contents in the article are followed:Firstly, the analysis of 3D complex groove chip breaking Limits curve, right on the chip curler to curl radius and limit the amount of feed were studied, and four typical geometry unit chip breaking effects were studied.Secondly, through the 45 steel, stainless steel cutting test, analysis of chip forms under different cutting parameters to determine the different groove breaker range, suitable for analysis of two materials processing groove, the chip generates roughly summarized form trends, and summarizes the three-dimensional features groove design.Thirdly, the impact of cutting parameters, tool angle and shape parameters of the chip breaker performance of research, development and design for stainless steel material finishing with indexable inserts chip breaker, and finite element simulation analysis of new blade.At last, this paper using UG secondary development of UG/OPEN API technology combined with VC++6.0 software was carried out on the chip fragments of indexable inserts slot parametric design.
