Since from the reform and opening-up,the economy has been increasing rapidly promoting the continuous development of transportation and the rapid growth of traffic puts forward higher requirements to the transportation facilities.Early pavement diseases affect the road service level,special sections in the road need functional pavement,and reasonable pre-maintenance measures can greatly lengthen the service life of the pavement.With the enhancement of people's awareness of environmental protection,however,energy-saving,emission-reduction and new material with no volatile organic compounds have become a hot research topic.With a lower energy-consumption,less emission of harmful substances,convenient construction,and fast opening to traffic,emulsified asphalt added proper modification agent has a more superior performance and can also meet the technical requirements of pre-maintenance,later-maintenance,and functional pavement.In this paper,an epoxy resin emulsifier was developed by the author to prepare waterborne epoxy resin,and the properties of the waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt and mixture were studied.The emulsifier formula of R5 and F814 were found when studied on the epoxy resin emulsifier.R5 consists of 35 percent of epoxy resin E-44,14 percent of solvent,43 percent of polyethylene glycol 400,5 percent of iminobisetnanol and 3 percent of glacial acetic acid,reacting for 4 hours at 180 degrees or 3 hours at 120 degrees with catalyst accounting for 1 percent of epoxy resin.F814 compose 8 portions of D(active ingredients accounted for fifty percent)and 14 portions of E4(active ingredients accounted for forty-five percent),additionally,D and E4 were prepared separately.The critical micelle concentration of R5 and F814 was similar,the R5 was weakly acidic,and the F814 was weakly alkaline.The rotational viscosity,storage stability,and water dispersion of the waterborne epoxy resin emulsion,developed by myself,were studied.The emulsifying equipment and the emulsification process parameters were determined through emulsifying test and evaluating the storage stability: sand grinding and dispersing machine was the emulsifying equipment,the temperature of epoxy resin is 60 to 70 degrees,rotating speed is 800 to 900 round per minute,add water by several times,and the effectivecontent of final emulsion is 45 to 55 percent.The compatibility of waterborne epoxy resin emulsion,curing agent and emulsified asphalt were studied by mixing test and filming test.It was found that the emulsion made by F814 had good compatibility with curing agent and the emulsion made by R5 was compatible with curing agent.The two were both compatible with the emulsified asphalt prepared with MK,so with the curing agent after well-mixed.The bonding property of waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt were studied by tensile test and oblique shear test.It was found that the waterborne epoxy modified emulsified asphalt has a better adhesion than the common asphalt emulsion,and waterborne epoxy resin can basically complete the cure reaction within24 hours and reach 80 percent of the final strength.In addition,the interlayers shear strength increased by 20 percent.The effect of waterborne epoxy dosage on the anti-wear performance,anti-water damage performance,anti-rutting performance and Marshall Stability were studied.It was found that reasonable water epoxy content can improve the anti-wear performance and anti-water damage performance of the mixture,not the more the better,and that waterborne epoxy can significantly improve the anti-rutting performance and the Marshall Stability of the mixture.The study of cold recycled mixture found that the Marshall Stability increased by 20 percent with 5 percent of waterborne epoxy resin.
