Cutting head,a working device of roadheader,is used to cut coal and rock.The distribution way of picks,which spiral on the envelope plane,determines its work performance.So,a reasonable picks' distribution mode is one of the key parts in cutting head design.This paper takes cutting head of longitudinal roadheader as the research object,which combines Phyllotaxy theory with picks' distribution parameters.It aims to improve the load condition of cutting head through the way of picks' bionic distribution.Firstly,Cutting head was projected in the XOY plane to confirm picks' installation radius;according to roadheader's geometry and motional law,the picks' speed and acceleration mathematical models are established;based on the cutting head's mechanical model,the relationship between cutting head load condition and picks' position angle is analyzed.Secondly,studying on the Phyllotaxis theory and find the similarity of leaves' growth pattern and picks' distribution.According to this similarity to establish a bionic cutting head model and draw the picks' distribution diagrams with different installation circumferential angles.Thirdly,this paper adopts software EDEM to simulate the process of cutting coal and rock by two kinds cutting head.Getting the cutting head's load curves to analyze how different circumferential angles influence on its load condition;Finally,the objective function which takes picks space as optimization variable is established to optimize cutting head load.According to the mechanical model of cutting head and the analysis of the influence of pick space on cutting performance.This paper adopts Matlab software to optimize pick space and do simulation again.At last,the advantages and disadvantages of bionic cutting head are evaluated by comparing cutting head's load conditions.Through comparing with two kinds of cutting head's load curves and concluding that the bionic cutting head,which takes 45.833° as pick installation circumferential angle,can enhance the continuity of lateral load curve,improve cutting head load condition in longitudinal and vertical working mode,increase working stability of cutting head,and verify preliminarily the way of pick bionic distribution is feasible.
