The thermal comfort is an important index for evaluating the performance of textiles and clothing.With the development of infrared textiles,the research of infrared radiation performance and testing methods of textiles is attracting the attention of researchers.At present,the dynamic measuring technology and comprehensive evaluation method of the infrared radiation properties of textile materials are still at an immature stage and the methods are relatively simple and unitary,especially in the development of dynamic testing technology and comprehensive evaluation method.The objective test method,the prediction model,and the evaluation system for the IR(Infrared Radiation)management properties of textile materials was proposed.The dynamic infrared radiation properties of textile materials can be tested by measuring the infrared radiation intensity and the temperature changes on the reflection surface and the transmission surface of the textiles.After measurement,the management properties,including the transmission,reflection,absorption and emission properties of different textile materials can be evaluated.Based on the principle of infrared radiation,the prediction model was built to predict the IR management properties of textile materials.Three stages including the initial stage,the dynamic stage and the steady stage,were applied and considered in the modeling.Using this model,the IR management properties of textile materials can be predicted by calculating the infrared radiation reflection and the infrared radiation transmission and the basic construction parameters.The evaluation system was set up to assess the IR management properties of textile materials based on the typical output curve from the prediction model.Eight indices corresponding to the three stages of the prediction model were defined,including the direct reflected IR intensity,the direct transmitted IR intensity,the IR emission intensity from the reflection surface,the IR emission intensity from the transmission surface,the IR emission rate from the reflection surface,the IRemission rate from the transmission surface,the IR intensity on the reflection surface in steady state and the IR intensity on the transmission surface in steady state.Based on the proposed test method,The objective measuring system was developed to test the IR management properties of textile materials.The measuring system consists of the mechanical testing equipment,the data acquisition hardware system and the software based on virtual instruments.The verification experiment was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the objective test system and the prediction model.By comparing the predict values from the prediction model with the test results of the test system,the prediction model was updated,and the verification results show that the prediction model can effectively predict the IR management property of different textiles.The objective experiment was implemented after the verification of the test system.Twelve kinds of typical textiles were tested,and the results of the eight indices were analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of the evaluation system.The objective test results show that the evaluation system can be used to effectively assess the IR management properties of textile materials.This thesis proposed a comprehensive evaluation and dynamic test method for the infrared radiation performance of textile materials,which provides a new test and evaluation method for the development of new textile materials.
