People usually use hand to touch and feel if the textile materials are comfortable and have a comfortable tactile when they are buying textile materials. Along with the advancement of our society, people’s requirements on the tactile comfort of textile materials have become increasing. The tactile property is one of important physical properties of textile materials, not only affect wearing comfort of textile materials but also influence people’s quality of life. Therefore, it’s necessary to evaluate the tactile properties of textile materials by combining the subjective test results and the objective test information which is obtained by simulating the process of dynamic contact between the textile and the human skin.Through the analysis on the previous test methods of textile properties, it’s found that most of the test methods of textile materials properties obtained single index on single measuring instrument under steady state conditions, and it can’t reflect the dynamic contact process between the textile and the human skin.A new test method was proposed, which can simulate the dynamic contact process between the textile and the human skin and obtain the change information of this process. It can obtain mechanical and physical properties of textile materials including mechanical compression and resilience properties, surface friction properties, bending and torsion properties and dynamic heat transfer properties on single measuring instrument. When the human skin contact with the textile, the human body will have heat or cool, wet or dry, smooth or rough, soft or stiff, prickle or soft sensations. These tactile properties are associated with mechanical, heat and moisture properties of textile, for instance, the heat exchange between the textile and the human skin, textile friction, the force of oppression and distortion on the surface of the skin, in the contact process between the human skin and the textile used in clothing. The simulation of dynamic contact process between the textile and the human skin is achieved by testing the mechanical and thermal signal in the contact process of textiles with multi-sensory measuring head on mechanical testing device and the dynamic change information of this process.The test results of the subjective experiments show that, although subjective evaluations are susceptible to volunteer’s emotional, personal preferences and cultural background and other factors, the test results have good consistency. The significance analysis results of subjective evaluation show that, the five kinds of subjective evaluation indexes can reflect the people’s commonalities. The source test data of twelve typical fabric samples were analyzed, the results are consistent with the fact.A new test method of tactile properties of textile materials was proposed and the test principle was introduced in this thesis. It provides a theoretical basis for the establishment of prototype system of mechanical test instrument of textile tactile properties. Twelve typical fabrics were used in the subjective experiments, and small sample database was established, which provides a basis for the establishment of a subjective evaluation system as well as overall test and evaluation method which combine subjective and objective evaluations.
