Because of its great performance in improving wet traction and rolling resistance of rubber, silica is widely used in tire treads. However, there are lots of hydroxyl groups on the surface of it, leading to its spontaneous agglomeration and thus poor compatibility with rubber matrix. In comparison with conventional mechanical processing method, which has problems such as high mooney viscosity in rubber compounds, difficult dispersity. This thesis systematically explores the preparation of silica reinforced solution styrene butadiene rubber compounds through wet method. At the same time, the conventional mechanical method and dry method are employed for comparison to study the various properties of rubber compounds. The main research contents are as follows:(1) Exploring and optimizing the craft of wet method. Comparing with flocculation craft, some of the rubber contents still exist in solution which is not only hard to recycle but also needs enormous dosage of flocculation, steam formulation craft has some advantages like no loss of mass contents, simplicity of processing and great recyclability of solvent. When employing unmodified silica to reinforce SSBR, the dispersity of silica in the solution is poor and some silica residues subside in the bottom of the solution during steam formulation craft, leading to bad properties.(2) Composites with modified silica as fillers through wet method have good dispersity, low rolling resistance and small compression temperature. 125phr M2 silica can be added into the matrix with better performances while only 100phr M1 silica can be added with inferior performances.(3)Three different brand modified silica filling SSBR composites are fabricated through wet method. As a result, silica is evenly dispersed in the composite that exhibits high tensile and shear strength, high resistance to wet traction and low rolling resistance without sacrificing its abrasion ability. The universality of wet method is proved.(4) Silica filling BR/SSBR compounds and carbon/silica filling SSBR compounds are being fabricated through wet method. As a result, silica is badly dispersed in BR(30phr)/SSBR/silica compounds, thus exhibiting small loss factor in 0? and 60? and bad performance in wet traction. The addition of carbon in SSBR/silica matrix results in fast vulcanizing speed.
