With the total reserves of coal resource reducing and the coal industry getting more and more difficult nearly two years, increase coal productivity and reduce the cost of coal mining has been paid more and more attention.Based on previous research and started from the big and small structural stability principle of the overlying strata of gob side entry retaining, the motion law of gob is analyzed, and according to roadside support resistance calculation method, obtained the required support strength of lane branch retaining structure of 5101 working face was not more than 8MPa, which was provided a theoretical basis for the gob side entry retaining design.Using FLAC3 D numerical simulation, Simulated the layout and strength of supporting block and the filling height of broken coal which was up the supporting block, obtained and analysed the surrounding rock deformation and stress distribution of gob side entry retaining. Ultimately the best scheme was determined: the layout of block wall is 1m in the lane and 1m out of the lane, the support strength of the block wall is 20 MPa, the pitch of block wall and roof is 200 mm.Combined the results of theoretical calculation and numerical simulation, and according to the ratio of concrete mix design procedure, designed the mix proportion of concrete and tested the mechanical properties of concrete block, Finally got the strength of concrete mix was more than 20 MPa.Combined with the specific geological conditions of 5101 working face, designed reasonable roof control and side entry retaining wall structure, developed two kinds of blocks which had different specifications and convenient transportation, and piled retaining wall with staggered joints and longitudinal code, designed temporary strengthening support of the working face, introduced the transport system of monorail,and designed the methods of determining of mine pressure and the deformation of surrounding rock in tunnel of 5101 working face in Xinfa coal.
