Combining the dietary survey of students in Guangdong Province Vocational School of Oceanographic and Engineering with the knowledge of nutrition, their attitudes, behaviors and the awareness of food safety, this thesis aims to explore whether the diet of students in vocational schools can meet the needs of their physical and mental development, and to tell differences between the students with specialized knowledge and the students without. Through the investigation, a proper diet structure should to be established, a scientific diet behavior should be developed and an awareness of food safety should be guided gradually in order to provide balanced meals for students in vocational schools of the coastal city.Starting from the knowledge of nutrition, the attitude and the behavior of students and the awareness of food safety, questionnaire survey is carried out to investigate 187 boys and girls majored in food and environment and other who are 16~18 years old and whose body mass index range in 19~25kg/m2 as random samples. SPSS22.0 software is used for analyzing the data. And the statistical analysis methods mainly include Scale-Reliability analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis and descriptive analysis method to analyze the survey data.Nutritional status, food intake and dietary structure:The survey results show that the students in this investigation have good nutritional status in general. However, from the view of per capita daily intake of nutrients situation, the intakes of vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folic acid, nicotinic acid are less than the suggested values in dietary guideline for Chinese residents and also the intake of calcium, magnesium, iron,zinc and manganese is less. From the view of food species intake, diet with meat and vegetables need further adjustment, reducing the intake of meat and increasing the intake of fruit and milk. From the view of diet structure, the diet structure is not so coordinated,as the energy, protein and fat are most derived from animal.Nutrition knowledge of the subjects:It is not ideal for respondents to get knowledge of nutrition. Only 31% of them know balance diet pagoda for Chinese residents. They lack of the knowledge about nutrients and the recommended amount of dietary intake, but know better about dietary energy distribution, healthy dietary pattern etc which are close to life.Nutrition attitude of investigation object :In general, the nutritional attitude of respondents is positive. They are willing to change their irrational eating habits and to enhance the learning of dietary knowledge. The survey result shows that there was no significant difference between the coastal and inland students in nutrition attitude. Nutrition attitude is not only related to the knowledge of dietary, but also to the Body Mass Index(BMI). To master certain knowledge of dietary nutrition can affect the individual to develop a positive attitude towards nutrition, which plays an important role on health.Nutritional behavior of the investigated subjects:Most respondents can keep good eating habits. 76.2% of them often have rice or pasta as the staple food, 41.2% of them have regular intake of lean meat, fish and poultry, 37.2% of them choose to drink tea or boiled water, 74.3% of them do not lose weight via starvation diet, and 54.5% of them have meals on time. But there are also some irrational eating habits. Some respondents have the habit of picky eating, some do not have fruits,vegetables and potatoes regularly, some cannot guarantee to take enough protein from eggs, milk, or soymilk, some lack of daily exercise and so on. The survey results show that dietary habits are related to the study of dietary nutrition, that eating habits are related to BMI index and food expenditure. There is a certain difference between the studens who come form coastal and inland in the nutrition behavior. To master certain dietary nutrition knowledge can drive people to form good eating habits. To maintain good eating habits can play a positive role in the individual's health under the premise of economic foundation.Survey object food safety awareness:The survey results show that buying unsafe food is a common phenomenon. Only 18.2% of respondents have no experience of buying unsafe food. Students who majored in food and environment know more about laws and information of food safety, but students in every major pay more attention to production date and shelf life when buying food. Most respondents have a good sense of eating health. They pay more attention to hygiene when eating outside and 59.4% of them always care about the dining environment. From the view of food safety, 62% of respondents worry about several food issues.As above, it is recommended to guide students to establish a scientific diet structure, to form a healthy dietary behavior, to pay attention to the supplement of vitamins and minerals, to enrich the knowledge about dietary nutrition, and to strengthen publicity and education on food safety.
