The livestock wastewater was consistently considered as one kind of pollutants with high concentration of organic matter, high suspended solids, high ammonia and so on.In this research, the treatment of the livestock wastewater was carried out by ABR-aerobic biological contact oxidation combined process on the spot. The feasibility of the process was explored and the conclusions were as follows. The baffled anaerobic reactor(ABR)was operated at low organic loading in start-up with ordinary anaerobic sludge and granular sludge, respectively.Besides, the reactor by seeding granular sludge ran more stable and significantly shorten the start-up time. After the start-up,with the HRT shortened and organic load increased,CODcr removal rate remained still stable and achieved above 80%.Taking into account the actual situation and engineering applications, the best HRT condition should set between 16 h.When the HRT of biological contact oxidation was 16 h,the CODcr removal rate was above 40%,the effluent CODcr was stable below 400 mg/L.The effluent NH4+-N was lower than 20 mg/L.Under the suitable operating conditions, the total CODcr removal rate was above 85% and stable.ABR-aerobic biological contact oxidation combined process is suitable for the treatment of the livestock wastewater and present a high practical application value, which can high effectively remove the suspended matter,CODcr and ammonia nitrogen in the livestock wastewater.
