In this paper, nine novel nickel, palladium, copper and cobalt Phenoxyimine complexes have been synthesized and characterized. And the crystal structures of nine Phenoxyimine complexes have been confirmed by the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. After activation with MAO, the Phenoxyimine complexes ?complex 1-9? are applied to catalyze vinyl polymerization of norbornene ?NB?. The catalytic behaviors for NB are researched in detail under the polymerization parameters such as reaction temperature, monomer concentration and Al/M ratio ?M=Co, Ni, Cu, Pd?. At last, the structures and properties of polynorbornene ?PNB? are characterized. The major research works are summarized as follows:1. Three kinds phenoxyimine novel ligand ?L1,L2, L3? and the corresponding nine post-transition metal ?nickel, palladium, copper, cobalt? complexes have been synthesized. composition and crystal structure of all ligands and Phenoxyimine complexes are characterized by element analysis?IR detecting?MS and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.2. After activation with MAO, the Phenoxyimine complexes ?complex 1-9? are applied to catalyze polymerization of NB. And nickel complexes ?complex 1,4 and 7? have high catalytic activities. Followed by the catalytic activity of the palladium complex ?complex 9?, Cobalt ?complex 3 and 6? and Copper ?complex 2,5 and 8? complexes have lower catalytic activities.3. The catalytic behaviors of nickel complexes ?complex 1,4 and 7? for NB are researched in detail under the reaction temperature, monomer concentration and Al/Ni ratio. Under the preferred conditions, the catalytic activities of complexes 1,4 and 7 are up to 1.268×107 g PNB·molNi-1·h-1,1.252×107 g PNB·molNi-1·h-1 and 1.278×107 g PNB·molNi-1·h-1.4.The structure of polymerization are characterized by IR?SEM?WAXD and TG...
