Petroleum coke(coal)slurry is a new fuel slurry composed of petroleum coke or coal and coal tar.It has the advantages of generation of oil,environmental protection,energy saving and high calorific value.At room temperature,the viscosity of petroleum coke(coal)slurry is high,and its liquidity is poor.While,the viscosity of petroleum coke(coal)water slurry will greatly be lower,and its liquidity will be better.In this paper,the slurrying properties of petroleum coke(coal/water)slurry,including rheology and stability,as well as the combustion characteristics of the slurries were studied.The main work includes:The Russian petroleum coke,Zhongjin petroleum coke and Xinjiang bituminous coal were selected as solid carbonaceous fuel,and coal tar was selected as liquid phase.The viscosity of petroleum coke(coal)slurries at different temperatures were studied.The results show that Xinjiang bituminous coal has the highest viscosity due to its water content and oxygen-containing functional groups.Considering different additives,the viscosity reduction effect of OP emulsifier was better at a relatively lower temperature.But it was easy to be decomposed at a higher temperature.While,the viscosity reduction effect of sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS)was weaker.When the solid concentration is below 30%,the slurries was characterized by plasticity.When the solid concentration is higher than 40%,the slurries was characterized by pseudoplastic.The static stability of petroleum coke(coal)slurries was poor.The slurries formed hard precipitate after standing for more than 7 days at 40?.When the solid concentration was more than 40%,the slurries could hardly flow.Experiments studied the slurrying properties of petroleum coke(coal/water)slurry.The results showed that when more than 20%water was added to coal tar,the water was easy to bleed.And the higher the solid concentration was,the more water would bleed.Petroleum coke(coal/water)slurry had a lower viscosity at the same petroleum coke or coal concentration.However,at a higher temperature,the viscosity reduction effect was poor because of the evaporation of water.When the solid concentration is higher than 30%,petroleum coke(coal/water)slurries showed shear-thinning pseudoplasticity.The static stability of petroleum coke(coal/water)slurries were better than petroleum coke(coal)slurries.After standing for more than 7 days at 40?,petroleum coke(coal/water)slurries only formed a little soft precipitate.Experiments studied the combustion characteristics of petroleum coke(coal/water)slurry,which were based on thermogravimetric.Studies showed that petroleum coke was more difficult to burn than coal,but the combustion performance of petroleum coke was better after ignition point.Because the ignition point of coal tar was relatively lower and the light part of coal tar was easy to burn,overall combustion characteristics of petroleum coke(coal)slurries were superior to petroleum coke and coal.And the combustion performance of slurries containing coal were better.The addition of water led to the "micro-explosion" effect when the light part of coal tar was burnt,but would affect the combustion performance.Therefore,the slurries containing water had lower combustion characteristic indices.And the activation energies of petroleum coke(coal/water)slurries were higher than petroleum coke(coal)slurries,which meant petroleum coke(coal/water)slurries were more difficult to burn.
