Dry and near-dry Wire Electrical Discharge Machining(WEDM)is a new technology developed in recent years.Compared to WEDM in liquid,it has less discharge gap and has little contamination to the environment.It has been proved to be feasible to adopt multi-cutting technology on the high speed WEDM wire-cut machine.Both of the two technology can improve the machining precision and efficiency to some degree but that is still not enough.Therefore in order to further improve the machining precision and efficiency,studying on the new technology that combines WEDM in multi-media technology and multi-cutting technology has prominent economic benefits and great theoretical significance for the development and application of WEDM.In this paper,multi-factors orthogonal test,Center Composite Design and BoxBenhnken Design have been adopted to establish the model of second cutting in steam water mist,the model of third cutting in ultrasonic water mist and forth cutting in gas respectively.After being inspected,the models that have been established are all significant and fit well.The error between test results and the data that the equation forecast is small and acceptable.Rank Correlation Analysis(RCA)is adopted to determine the weights of machining precision and efficiency in aggregative model of second cutting in steam water mist,third cutting in ultrasonic water mist forth cutting in gas respectively.The weights of machining precision and efficiency are 5/11 and 6/11,7/12 and 5/12,8/13 and 5/13 respectively.Aggregative model of each cutting is obtained after linear weighting of processing time model and surface roughness model that have been nondimensionalized.Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm(POSA)is adopted to optimize the aggregative model of second cutting in steam water mist,third cutting in ultrasonic water mist forth cutting in gas respectively and optimal parameters that giveconsideration to both machining precision and efficiency are obtained.In addition,the method of obtaining the parameters of the biggest cutting efficiency on the precondition of meeting certain machining precision by adopting PSOA is also introduced in this paper.
