Heterogeneous fiber is the fiber which has a relatively large difference in property.The performance of heterogeneity is not only the difference in ingredient of raw material,but also in property.Cotton,wool,silk,linen and chemical fiber are heterogeneous fibers for each other,because their raw material are different,and each of them has a relatively large difference in process,taking function and so on,so that they can learn from each other in the product development.With the improvement of quality of life,the product of textile and apparel manufactured by single fiber more and more can not satisfy consumer's demands for growing comfort,aesthetics and functionality,and the blending of heterogeneous fiber can combine the advantages of different fibers,use the different expressive of variety of fibers in the mechanical,surface,appearance and other aspects to achieve complementary advantages,to provide products of different styles,even to produce new functional effects.So it is necessary to study the spinning of heterogeneous fibers in depth.Practice shows that,due to blending of fibers of different properties in the heterogeneous fiber,the problem appear which does not appear when card the single fiber,it becomes a polytechnic difficulty,and carding itself is also a key process in the spinning process,therefore,this subject is to a single fiber and the blending of heterogeneous fiber to study the carding behavior and practice.Each type of fiber will be damaged in the carding process,Previously,it is to reflect the damage through the fiber length index,it can not reflect the level of fiber breakage,lack of targeted guidance for processing improvement,for the purpose,this subject has studied the variety of fiber length during the carding process,the fiber damage characterization index was put forward for the first time,macroscopic breaking ratio ? and Macroscopic breaking increase rate ?,Microscopic breaking ratio ?,Microscopic breaking increase rate ?,the long fiber breaking rate ?.The macroscopic indicators reflect the overall level of fiber breaking,microscopic indicators reflect the distribution of specific broken fibers,the long fiber breaking rate reflects the damage of carding to fiber quality,the three aspects of the indicators can fully reflect the damage of fiber in the carding process.So in this paper,the carding behavior of fiber was studied,and the characterization system of fiber carding behavior was proposed in three aspects: neps and dush index,fiber length index and fiber damage index.The carding behavior of single fiber was studied,cotton,wool,silk and linen,and the indicators are analysed according to the characterization system.For impurity removal rate,it exists,cotton>silk>wool>linen;for the length of the fiber in the raw strips is increased,it exists,cotton>wool>silk>linen;for the damage of fiber,it exists,cotton<silk<wool<linen,it indicates that cotton equipment is more adaptable to the combing of cotton fiber,while the wool,silk,linen raw material is obviously slightly larger damaged,but also has a certain adaptability for carding.Therefore,in the cotton spinning equipment as long as the selected raw materials of the process parameters appropriate,you can also process other fiber materials.The carding behavior of heterogeneous fiber was studied,and the carding of cotton and wool(80/20?70/30?40/60),cotton and silk(90/10?80/20?70/30),cotton and linen(60/40?50/50?40/60)are tested,respectively.The indicators are analysed according to the characterization system,for different proportions of cotton and wool,and find that cotton wool 80/20 carding is better adaptable,cotton wool 70/30 is worse and cotton wool 40/60 is worst.For different proportions of cotton and silk,cotton silk 90/10 and 80/20 carding are better adaptable,cotton silk 70/30 is worse;for different proportions of cotton and linen,cotton linen 60/40 carding is better adaptable,cotton linen 50/50 is worse,and cotton linen 40/60 is worst.In order to understand the effect of process parameters on the quality of carding,we chose cotton silk 70/30 blending fiber to optimize the process,the optimum process is:the size of feed plate is 30 mm,the gauge of feed plate and licker-in is 0.25 mm,the five-point gauge is 0.25 mm,0.23 mm,0.2m m,0.2mm,0.23 m m,the cylinder speed is 330r/min and the flat speed is 82mm/min.Optimize the quality of combing before and after,the number of neps decreased from 41Cnt/g to 40 Cnt/g,the average length was increased from 26 mm to 26.8mm,and the rate of short fiber was reduced from 15.9% to 15.0%.Fiber damage: the increase rate of macroscopic fracture was decreased from 0.0249 to 0.0162,the elongation rate of long fibers decreased from 0.0338 to 0.0253,and the rate of cotton was reduced from 3.56% to 2.98%.And the carding quality before and after carding is applied to the production practice.It is concluded that the evenness,the hairiness,the thick place,the thin place and the neps have the different degree of decrease,and the strength and extension are also rise.It is helpful to improve yarn quality by rationally optimizing the carding process of heterogeneous fiber.
