Along with the improvement of people's environmental awareness,intumescent flame retardant(IFR)has benn widely used in polymer,because it is very environmental friendly.However,polyphosphate as one of very important ingredient of IFR system has much weakness,such as poor water resistance and low complibility with polymer.These problems affect the flame retardance badly.In order to overcome these problems,modification of APP by microencapsulation was studied.Meanwhile,IFR system flame retardant polypropylene was also researched.Firstly,melamine formalde resin is used in microencapsulation of APP.The product-MFAPP was prepared by in-suit synthesis.The effect of these factors such as reaction time?temperature?pH?the ratio of shell and core?the solvent to the reaction was studied.APP and the modified product were characterized by IFTR?SEM?TG analysis?water solubility test?LOI?UL-94.It turned that MFAPP has better water resisitance and high complibility wih PP.When MFAPP was added I n PP by 30%,the LOI of the composition MFAPP/PP can reach 29.5%better than 21.5%that the LOI of APP/PP at the same amount.The LOI of the composition MFAPP/PP can also reach 29%after water treatment.Secondly,in order to enhance the thermal stability and improve the flame retardance of the modified product,TEOS was used to modify melamine formalde resin to micoencapulate APP.The product-SIMFAPP was prepared by in-suit synthesis.The effect of these factors such as reaction time?temperature?pH?the ratio of shell and core?to the reaction was studied.The optimal condition was found by water soubility test and EDS anlysis.SIMFAPP were characterized by IFTR?SEM?TG analysis?water solubility test?LOI?UL-94.It turned out that SIMFAPP has better water resisitance and high complibility wih PP.In addition,the thermal stability was improved.When SIMFAPP was added in PP by 30%,the LOI of the composition SIMFAPP/PP can reach 32.5%,the LOI of the composition MFAPP/PP can still reach 31.9%after water treatment.At last,IFR flame retardant PP was studied.The influence of the ratio of APP/MFAPP/SIMFAPPA to PER on the flame retardance of PP was researched.Through the evaluation of oxygen index test,vertical burning test and thermal stability analysis.The result show that when the ratio of APP/PER is 2:1,The composition PP/APP/PER has best performance inflame retardance,LOI can reach 32.2%.The result indicates that the flame retardance of PP/MFAPP/PER was better than that of PP/APP/PER,when the ratio of MFAPP/PER is 3:1,LOI can achieve 34.5%.The LOI of PP/SIMFAPP/PER shows 37%,when the ratio of SIMFAPP/PER is 3:1.The thermal stability was also improved.
