Spray control in continuous casting secondary cooling have great affect on the quality and quantity of the production. As the improvement of technologies and the requirement for the product quality becomes higher,there is also get more higher requirement for the actuator control system on the site. In order to guarantee the quality of the billets, we need make improve for the secondary cooling system.In order to improve the surface quality of the slab and in view of the defects of the surface crack, the center loose, shrinkage cavity and the composition segregation of billet in the billet continuous casting production line of a certain steel plant, the present secondary cooling water distribution system was compared and analyzed in this paper. Under the certain rule of metallurgy, a novel actuator control system was established. This paper focus on solving the problem which were the control valve maladjustment sometime happened. The goal is to establish a automatic control system which have good performance such as high security, high reliability, fast response, high control precision, strong anti-interference ability.In this paper, on the basis analysis for the heat transfer model of the secondary cooling water of continuous casting process, the main focuses of this paper were on the realization of the valve control strategy.The main research contents and innovations of this paper are as follows:(1) As the process flow and equipment function of the continuous caster were introduced. In-depth analysis of the situation of the secondary cold water distribution system in the plant and its problem existence were presented.(2) According to the currently situation of secondary cold water distribution system in the plant, the existing problems and defects are analyzed, and the control scheme of fuzzy PID control and query knowledge base is put forward. The simulation results show that this control scheme can solve the problem between the accuracy and the speed. Because of the knowledge base has a ability of learning, the ability of anti disturbance and stability of the system get improving.(3) In order to verify the correctness and feasibility of the algorithm, There is a simulation platform is established. And the process of how to select and design hardware for automatic control system of the secondary cooling water was given. The fuzzy PID been simulated and verified by Matlab.After the system optimization, we can met production requirement,and the quality of billet get significant improvement.
