As the increasing high requirement for the information and automation in oil mining industry, it is important to sample and analyze the working condition, diagnose the faults and conduct the intelligent control for the pumping unit. To satisfy these requirements, a data acquisition and condition analyzing system based on the real-time field bus named Powerlink has been designed and implemented for the pumping unit in this thesis. The thesis is organized as follows:Firstly, a summarized analysis of development status, platform structure, and functional requirements about the pumping unit is given. Because of the excellent performance of Powerlink in industrial fields, a scheme based on Powerlink for data acquisition and condition analysis in pumping unit has been proposed, which is composed of the terminal controller for data acquisition and the master controller for condition analysis. Meanwhile, the software and hardware architecture for the respective modules in the designed system is presented.Secondly, in terms of hardware, the 32-bit STM32 chip based on ARM Cortex-M3 kernel is chosen to be the core processor of the terminal controller due to its outstanding performance. After that, the hardware modules, consisting of minimum control system, Powerlink communication, electrical parameters acquisition, wellhead parameters acquisition and peripheral interface, have been designed. In what follows, the reliability analysis of the hardware modules is carried out by introducing the board layer optimization design in printed circuit board.Thirdly, in terms of software, the designs for the data acquisition terminal controller and the master controller are discussed in detail. The software framework of the data acquisition terminal including the interface layer and application layer has been developed. Based on the system-on-a-programmable-chip technique of Nios II, the Powerlink communication in the terminal and master controllers has been implemented by the “ARM+FPGA” architecture. The condition analysis technique is studied on the basis of the indicator diagram diagnosis. According to the principle of the balance beam, an intelligent control schedule has been proposed.Finally, the test platform of data acquisition and condition analysis system for pumping unit has been constructed. Powerlink communication test, data acquisition test, and condition analysis test have been conducted. The test results verify the efficiency and feasibility of the designed system.
