As a key component of engine in automobile or steamboat, the crankshaft has extensive demand in modern industry. The machining accuracy, production efficiency, flexibility and automation have a direct impact in engine quality, including yield, energy efficiency and emissions. Manufacturers at home and abroad usually adopt grinding process as the finish machining of crankshaft, in order to ensure machining accuracy. The efficiency of CNC programming is a restriction of crankshaft production. Because crankshaft component has a complex geometrical shape, traditional manual programming exists many shortage such as much workload, low efficiency and easy to make mistakes. This paper researched on CNC parameterized automatic programming of crankshaft grinding. A special interface software has been designed for parameterized automatic programming of crankshaft grinding, and applied to Sinumerik 840 D. Main work of this paper is summarized as follows:Do research on the key technology of crankshaft grinding. Research and Analyze the parametric programming of CNC system at home and abroad. Combined with user requirements, design the working process of parametric programming. Based on the standard procedure and the similarity of CNC program, extract the crankshaft parts characteristic parameters. Analysis the functional requirements and design the modular of the parametric programming system. After parameterized, use the system generate NC program automatically, and complete the application of parametric design.Analyze the two aspects of crankshaft parts by part features and process characteristics. Analysis the crankshaft parts methods in the process of the user to input parameters.Use graphical information and the text information to assist parameter input process. Establish a mathematical model of the crankshaft grinding movement, and derived mathematical relationship in constant linear velocity grinding. Get servo axis linkage relations in nc program. Determine the technical feasibility of parametric programming.Using MFC design the interface software of CNC parameterized automatic programming of crankshaft grinding. And apply the soft to processing platform based on Sinumerik 840 D NC system. Design machine tool control circuit, servo control, system configuration, etc. Establishing the language dynamic link library to secondary-develop the 840 D NC system.
