Research On The Design Of Multi Functional Furniture For Small-sized Apartment Based On Integrated Design

With the development of economy and the increase of urban population,China’s housing prices remain high,so small-sized apartments are favored by the public.The furniture occupies the leading position in the home environment,due to the small residential space of small-sized apartments,multi functional furniture springs up,resulting in that the furniture is no longer single-functional,which can be transformed freely,as well as combined and split.The problems of varied changeable functions reveal themselves gradually,such as blind increase of functions,unreasonable collocation of various functions,and wrong priorities,therefore,it is very important to integrate the design functions of the multi functional furniture for small-sized apartment.How can the designers control the reasonable and moderate function combination when designing multi functional furniture for small-sized apartment.It is necessary to clear the limits of the superposition of multi functional furniture,guide the design of multi-functional furniture by integrated design principles,and broaden the designers’ ideas,so as to reduce the occurrence of the mentioned problems and meet users’ real needs,making the customers enjoy pleasure among these mult functional furniture.Considering the study on the application of integrated design in the design of multi functional furniture for small-sized apartment as subject,and the integrated design as method,this paper guides the design of multi functional furniture by the principle of integrated design through the analysis of the existing problems of current furniture design,so that the designers are able to explore more reasonable function combination and design the furniture which in line with the real demands of users.This article mainly uses the literature research,the market investigation,the on-the-spot investigation,the practice summary analysis and so on.First of all,the concept of integrated design and the role it plays in the overall design are introduced.Secondly,the concepts of small-sized apartment and multi functional furniture arestated,and the characteristics,kinds and basic functions of multi functional furniture are analyzed,through which,it is found that the functions of existing multi functional furniture can not be superposed reasonably.This paper introduces the function and influence of the integrated design on the multi functional furniture for small-sized apartments,and sums up the principles in the design process,as well as the forms of furniture integration and the matters needing attention.Again,this paper analyzes four kinds of integrated designs which are suitable for small-sized apartments,and ways to arrange the furniture using this four designs,as well as expounds their advantages.Finally,according to the investigation and analysis,the paper finds out the existing problems of the products and users’ demands,conducts design conception and design orientation,implements design practice using integrated design,and detailedly describes the entire process step by step.To create the multi functional furniture using the integrated design method is a supplement to the existing design method,which is also a way to guide the designers and the enterprises to carry out the design of the multi functional furniture reasonably and conform its functions effectively.
