Xinjiang is rich in oil resources,which has been designated as the replacement area of China's strategic reserves of petroleum resources.Circum-Mahu area is located at the northwest margin of Xinjiang Junggar basin,which is recognized as the hydrocarbon rich sag.Through analysis of rock mechanics parameters of circum-Mahu area,we found that conglomerates and the dense gravel causes the low drilling speed and the long drilling cycle,which restricts the process of exploration and development.In order to improve the drilling speed and reduce the drilling cost,this paper designs and develops the individual steel PDC drill bit which is suitable for the geological layers of the Mahu Lake area.Through the analysis of the structural characteristics of PDC bits,we reveal the operating principle of cutting teeth,such as breaking rocks,erosion and so on.Based on existing research,we discuss and analyze the structural design principles of PDC bits.Finally,the theoretical analysis and computer aided design method are used to design and manufacture the steel PDC bit which is suitable for the well area.The practical application shows that the design of the individual steel PDC drill bit is reasonable,the drilling speed is increased,and the drilling cost is reduced. |
