The copper, cobalt, nickel, manganeseand zinc transition metal complexes are widely used in medicine, catalytic reaction and etc. Based on the full literature, the recent advancement of the transition metal complexes and their catalytic application to the Henry reaction and cyanosilylation are systematically summarized. In one simple step method, the organometallic complexes ? -? bearing 5-amino-2-ethylpyrdine-2-carboximidate were separately obtained from the reaction of 5-amino-2-cyanopyrdine with CuCl2·2H2O,CoCl2·6H2O, NiCl2·6 H2O and MnCl2·6H2O. Reaction of tetracyanoethylene with ZnClh resulted in the formation of complex V. Their structures were determined by elemental analysis , IR and X-ray diffraction. One hydrochloride ? and two kinds of nitrogen compounds ? - ? were accordingly synthesized from the reaction of 2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine with NiCl2·6H2O, N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)succinimide with CoCl2·6H20 and tetracyanoethylene with Cu(OAc)2·H2O. They were also characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and X-ray diffraction. Each complexs I -V was then used as a catalyst in the Henry reaction .The effects of reaction time, solvent and aldehyde on the catalytic reaction were discussed, and the optimum reaction conditions were determined. The complex V achieved the best catalytic result, the conversion efficiency was 97%.Moreover, the complexes, hydrochloride and nitrogen compounds ??? were used to catalyze the cyanosilylation and obtained good catalytic results.Among them, the complex V achieved the best catalytic effect, the conversion rate was 92%.
