Schematic design of structure plays a key role in machine tool design.To realize the performance optimization of whole machine and structural components in the early design stagecan avoid iteration in subsequent detailed design and structural modification,and therefore,the appropriate machine tool schematic structural has great significance on improving design quality and efficiency.Aiming at these problems above,aschematic design and integrated optimization method of precession horizontal machining centerstructureis proposed.This method can be applied forschematic designof machine tool structureat the conceptual design stage,and it can also be used toimprove the performances of machine toolin structure improvement design stage.In this paper,the main work and conclusionare as follows:First,aschematic design and integrated optimization method of precession horizontal machining centerstructurebased onresponse surface model,multi-objective genetic algorithm and CAD/CAE integration methodis proposed.The technical process of integrating ANSYS and Pro/E in the multi discipline optimization design software iSIGHT is introducedin detail,and the framework of CAD/CAE based on iSIGHT is built.Next,thewhole schematic designof the precision horizontal machining center based on the top-down design is done,and the schematic designof machine tool structure is established based on whole machine and structural componentsskeleton model.On this basis,the parametric schematic design of the key structuralcomponents of machine tool is established based on the Pro/Program re-development platform of Pro/E.Once again,duringthe key technology of collaborative optimization for CAD/CAE/i SIGHT integration,the creating process of the parametric design template of CAD model and the template of finite element modeling and analysis based on APDL,through which the knowledge of parametric modeling and simulation iseffectively integrated is introduced in detail.Comprehensive utilization of experimental design,responsesurface methodology(RSM)and multi-objective optimization algorithm,a optimizing technical process with static & dynamic characteristics and quality as the goal is formed which takes the key structure design parameters as variables.Finally,based on the abovementioned technologies and methodologies,the key structural componentsschematic design and optimization of the precision horizontal machining center is completedwith specific engineering examples.By comparing the results between original and optimized design of machine tool,the rationality and feasibility of the schematic design and integrated optimization of machine tool structure are verified.
