| Beam end connectors which are used to make beam to column connections,are important special parts of pallet racks.The storage rack stability depends significantly on the behavior of this connection,and therefore,it is important to have a proper way of predicting it.The connection between a column and a beam can be classified into semi-rigid for practical.The beam end connectors provide support to the beams and rotation between beam and column.At present,the design of beam end connectors depends mostly on experiment in China.The practical performance of beam end connectors cannot be reflected accurate.It suggests to test it in FEM10.2.02.The equipment for comprehensive performance of beam end connectors is important for design and manufacture of connections.It is of great significance to develop the equipment and to gain the performance of beam end connectors accurately and efficiently.This article made the following aspects of the research work:(1)The performance of semi-rigid beam end connectors is researched.A semi-rigid connection possesses intermediate elasticity and the joint is normally formed by the use of bolts or welding.It is difficult to analyze the behavior in theory because of its non-linear and various different types.It is suggested to get the strength and stiffness by test in domestic and international standards.(2)The equipment of performance of beam end connectors is developed.The principle of cantilever tests is taken to design the equipment with modular design.It makes the equipment apply to all different types of beam end connectors.(3)The performance of connections can be tested.Comparing various different types of beam end connectors and establishing mathematical model,it decides the strength and stiffness of connections.It provides foundation for optimal design of beam end connectors.(4)Finite Element Analysis of connections.The behavior of beam end connectors can be analyzed by appropriate finite element model and node approach. |
