The measurement of related parameters on gear chamfering is an important task to ensure chamfering gear machining quality and precision. The traditional measurement method of gear profile parameters is contact measurement based on three coordinate measuring machine. Its principle is the use of mechanical probes with the corresponding high sensitivity displacement sensors. It acquisites the data of gear chamfering surface profile and obtains the 3D information of surface chamfer. Traditional contact measurement method is high measurement accuracy, mature technology and wide application. But it is inevitable that the mechanical contact measuring probe scratches chamfering surface. It is easy to leave scratches on the surface and causes damage. In addition, contact measurement is complex positioning, slow measurement speed and work efficiency.Non-contact gear chamfering profile measuring system,in this paper,is a two-stage non-contact collaborative measurement method which based on machine vision positioning and laser measurement technology. This method realizes fast and accurate measurement,high efficiency of gear chamfering profile parameters. Based on original test prototype products, this paper analyses the source of measurements' error as a whole and proposes corresponding compensation method contrapuntally.The research contents of this subject mainly include:(1) This paper summarizes the research status of non-contact measurement methods at home and abroad, and analyzes the principle and implementation method of non-contact two level collaborative measurement system.(2) This paper describes the principle, hardware composition and software module of non-contact gear chamfering profile measurement system based on the machine vision guidance.(3) Aiming at the imaging principle of optical lens of vision sensor, the nonlinear model of perspective projection error and the corresponding error compensation method are put forward.(4) It analyses traditional edge detection technology. In this paper, an improved edge detection model is proposed.(5) The improved algorithm of gear center location is proposed, and the sub-pixel precision center location is realized by least square iteration algorithm.(6) The telecentric measurement system was used to assist the measurement, and the control software of the measurement system was developed by C++.
