This paper expounded and studied the design process of 60,000Nm3/h regenerative thermal oxidizer for coal mine gas.It also introduced a specific application of the device.Most of China's coal mines are gas outburst and high gas coal mines.Coal mine gas has brought great challenge to the safety of coal production.With the effort in supervision of China's coal mine safety,the production and utilization of coal mine gas has been continuously increased year by year. The current technology of using coal mine gas which concentration is 9% and above has been more mature, so most of these gas has been effectively used or has been brought into use planning.But the ultra low concentration gas which concentration is <9%, and a lot of ventilation gas is directly emptied.This not only wasted a lot of resources, but also caused great harm to the environment.The regenerative thermal oxidation technology is the only way of using the ultra low concentration gas,which can achieve a high rate of destruction,make ultra low concentration gas become resources, and bring economic benefits. Over the years, a number of foreign companies, have been engaged in this research, the technology has been basically mature. However, due to coal mine gas safety mutation and the high cost of foreign equipments, there is less project really put into commercial operation.So it is much-needed to develop an domestic economic, efficient,safety, and environmental protection technology to use ultra low concentration gas and ventilation air. The author has carried out a large number of development and application of RTO for coal mine gas, based on the related work carried out by domestic and foreign enterprises. The successful development of 60,000Nm3/h RTO for coal mine gas,has achieved the domestic equipment breakthrough particularly.This paper focuses on the design and development process of 60,000Nm3/h RTO for coal mine gas, and analyzes and expounds the application, the current situation of technology development, the main problems existing and the operating characteristics of gas oxidation equipment.It put forward the overall design scheme of 60,000Nm3/h RTO for coal mine gas,including the RTO body scheme,such as thermal counterflow regenerative oxidation technology, oxidation bed and heating starting device.The safety transport system of gas, control scheme of gas mixing and dynamic adjustment,and the control scheme of RTO operating process are discussed in this paper.According to the overall scheme of 60,000Nm3/h RTO for coal mine gas, the related design & calculation of the RTO,and selection of key components, including the overall thermal balance calculation, design and calculation of the oxidation bed and start heating system,verification of residence time in high temperature area,have been carried out.At the end, the paper introduced the utilization of 60,000Nm3/h RTO in a coal slime drying project. The whole project process, the calculation of process parameters,the oxidation device for heating and starting operating parameters, and gas mixing control system to verify the reliability and so on, are introduced.Finally it analysed the project economic evaluation and the social benefits.The device has reached advanced level of similar foreign equipment, and achieved a stable,reliable, safety, efficient operation.So it has great popularization and application value.
