Surfaces with super hydrophobic properties are widely used in buildings, navigation, pipelines and daily lives because of its ability of self-cleaning. There are a lot of methods to prepare super hydrophobic surfaces, but they are not promoted because of some disadvantages, for example, some of them cost too much of time, some of them are not able to fabricate a large area of surfaces, even some methods may produce gas which are poisonous. In this article, three method to fabricate surfaces with hydrophobic properties were introduced. The production process were also been studied.A new method modifying surfaces of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) with silicone ball was introduced in the first chapter. The silicone ball with characteristics of low surface energy are densely arranged on the surface of PDMS with poor liquidity. The surfaces with good hydrophobic properties would be made after heating the PDMS. The composite structures of micro balls on the bump benefited the characteristic of hydrophobicity. The influence of different preheating temperature to the hydrophobicity of the sample made in this mothed were discussed, which guided the process of preheating PDMS. In addition, the effect of the gasoline to the surfaces was been researched as well.Surfaces of polycarbonates modified with low surface energy materials were fabricated with super hydrophobic properties in the way of solid-like isothermal hot embossing using filter meshes as model. Surfaces of polycarbonate prepared in this method presented micro-nano composite structures which improved the roughness of the solid surfaces and reduced the fraction of solid phase on the surface with nano ripples on the indentations molded by filter meshes. Hydrophobic properties of polymer might increase significantly because of the structures. Production cycle of preparation of super hydrophobic materials could be shortened to several minutes in the way of solid-like isothermal hot embossing. The best processing conditions of fabrication of super hydrophobic polycarbonate surfaces in the way of solid-like isothermal were acquired after discussing the effects of different process of hot embossing to the wettability of sample surfaces. The content of fluorine on the surfaces of polymer was also be discussed and the property of antifriction of the sample was tested as well.Filling behaviors during the solid-like isothermal hot embossing of polycarbonate were researched in the way of finite element analysis. Influences of lithography temperature, lithography pressure, lithography time to the molding of polycarbonate in the solid-like isothermal hot embossing was discussed. Results obtained by the finite element analysis were similar to the laboratory findings guiding the process of polycarbonate in the solid-like isothermal hot embossing. In this chapter, properties of hydrophobic of polymers were improved in the way of ultraviolet curing nanoimprint lithography using PDMS as model. A novel process of model made of PDMS was introduced and polymers with good hydrophobic surfaces were made with the model.
