Toys, as one of the most important children of children, carry the function of enriching children's knowledge and improving children's brains.As an important category of toys, mechanical toys with characteristics of Chinese culture can not only help children inherit and carry forward Chinese traditional culture, but also inject new vitality to the toy industry innovation.The paper makes the innovation design practice of mechanical toys with mechanism design of mechanical toys as the main research object, the content of Chinese traditional culture as the breakthrough and first attempt to definition and classification of mechanical toys. The content of research is determined with analyzing the information about traditional Chinese culture and children's psychological behavior. The paper finally proposes a mechanical toy which combines culture and intellectual entertainment called "Kuafu daily" which uses a combination of gear, crank, and CAM by composition and optimization of different institutions. And the finite element analysis was carried out using solidworks to determine the feasibility of the design.The research refers to a lot of literature of toys, materials, Chinese traditional culture and children. The complete process including the actual data research, user research, simulation and evaluation as well as the structure, shows the important reference value for research.
